The promoter of the bison project, in Wittgenstein died on last Monday evening, (13. March 2017). Hunter Prince Richard from poached deer, a bison herd, the only free-living of its kind in Western Europe.

In 1968, married Richard Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, the Kronschwesterprinzessin Bendikte of Denmark. He leaves behind 3 children: Prince Gustav, Princess Alexandra and Princess Nathalie. The Prince managed to 13,000 hectares of forest. In 2003, the idea, in the Rothaargebirge bison the opportunity to live wild. In 2013, the first of the wild cattle in the freedom were left.
