The National Office of Hunting, Conservation and Rural Development (ONC) believes it is imperative to in Spain to address, once and for all, the problem generated by the forest fires. A problem that is repeated summer after summer and still has not been given solution despite the terrible impact that has on our rural world and the terrible damage we cause to our ecosystems.

For the ONC can not let pass more time without all the authorities involved join together and take action on four fronts.

In the first place, in the implementation of more preventive measures, and also in the search of more effective measures. Because only from the careful and appropriate management of the rural world may be limited to the consequences of the fires.

In the second place, it is necessary to increase the means for the extinction of forest fires, as well as the coordination between the different administrations. And is that although in general lines the work of extinction are part of the fight against the fire works best, we should always aspire to increase the means available to us to ensure the most appropriate response in the shortest period of time.

The third axis should be the recovery of the damages produced in the shortest possible time. The rural world Spanish you can not allow that after dousing a fire, have to withstand environmental damage of effects very harmful. Damage that could be avoided with immediate action and effective in the burnt areas.

Finally, it is not possible to today continue being unpunished the vast majority of fires. The statistics show that at least 6 out of every 10 forest fires are caused intentionally, but there are few convictions for this type of crime. Therefore, the ONC is requesting to increase the means dedicated to the research of forest fires in the territory, in a way that will increase the penalties for those who cause intentionally these assaults to our environment.
