After the publication in the COLORS no. 149, August 4, 2017, the text of the Regulation Sort of Hunting in Andalusia (ROC) –which comes to modify the previous Decree 182/2005, 26 July– the Spanish Association of Rehalas has made this summary include the following developments in terms of the rehalas, many of them proposed by the AER, in the table that actively participated in the preparation of the ROC.

  • Definition of rehala: the result of the contributions of the AER, for the first time in the whole of the law hunting a national includes the definition of rehala in your article 84.2: “it Is understood by rehala, also called recova or pack, any group of hunting dogs that are led by a podenquero or perrero, is traditionally used to beat the spots on the modalities of the hunt, hook, whipped it and whipped it management”. The AER considers this amendment a major breakthrough by giving legal content to the figure of the rehala to a level that had not been produced to date in the legislation to hunting Spanish, recognizing its existence, its necessity and its traditional use in Andalusia, even to his proposed declaration as BIC.
  • Identification: to facilitate identification of dogs of rehala during the action of the hunt, the dogs must wear a collar with plate id which will contain as a minimum the name of the holder, a contact telephone number and the identification number on registration of ancillary media (NIRA) of the rehala to which it belongs. The AER has always advocated the need for the dog to carry a means of quick identification during the hunt.
  • Registration of the rehala: for the employment of rehalas will be necessary for the holder of the same this in possession of the corresponding license of rehala, as set out in article 52.3 of the Law 8/2003, of 28 October, in addition to being registered in the Single Registry of Cattle of Andalusia, in accordance with article 15 of the Decree 65/2012, of 13 of march. There is no longer any doubt that may only obtain a license of rehala those that are covered by a core zoo duly legalized.
  • Number of dogs: the other great aspiration of the AER has also been collected to establish the possibility of expanding the number of dogs hunting from 24 to 30, allowing incorporating 6 dogs less than 24 months of age. In total, a rehala shall be composed of a minimum number of 16 and a maximum of 40 dogs. The art. 81 requires the participation of rehalas duly legalized in monterías and hooks. With these measures we find the advantage of being able to get hunting most dogs, equating their number with communities such as Extremadura, but, at the same time, limits the total number of dogs for rehala to prevent some “fold” in prejudice of the other peers.
  • Need hunting license in the podenqueros: the art. 85.4 expressly states that those who practice hunting with dogs, though, do not carry weapons, as is the case of the perreros, is in possession of a hunting license. This requirement, not previously regulated with as much clarity had been subject to various interpretations in practice, and this is clarified by your need. The podenquero, if it is not the holder of the license of rehala should get the regular license surcharge game and so becomes another hunter more at all levels and is covered with its compulsory insurance of civil liability.
  • Knives of auction: by attending to the claims of the AER, the use of knives auction for rehaleros and monteros in monterías, hooks and churned, comes to be expressly provided for in art. 86.2 covering, in this way it corrects an omission in the former regulation.
  • Security measures: as a measure of safety generic, it forces all participants, hunters, and companions who carry a garment type cap, vest or armband of yellow or orange color. Specifically the podenqueros must wear a vest (art.93.3.h). This measure seems to us to be entirely consistent and, in fact, had already been established in practice.
  • Of negative side you are missing in the text of other proposals of the AER on all matters of safety during the action hunting in connection with the podenqueros and dogs, such as the prohibition of shooting on the line or when the carcasses are snatched up by the dogs, measures that the AER claimed in his time that were collected in this text and that have been left out of art 93 that, yes, regulates the security measures between the posts. The AER understands that the greatest risk with the podenqueros while beat the mount, so that the measures that they proposed in their time had to be adhered to.Las rehalas en el nuevo Reglamento de Ordenación de Caza de Andalucía - CazaWonke - Caza y Safaris, tu diario de caza.Las rehalas en el nuevo Reglamento de Ordenación de Caza de Andalucía - CazaWonke - Caza y Safaris, tu diario de caza.
  • Areas of campeo: in the matter of areas of campeo of dogs, the art. 48.2 (b) included within the scenarios of hunting, regulating them explicitly in its art. 50. In this aspect he attends another of our requests, eliminating the requirement of the perimeter fence in those that are used between the months of July and December, maintaining its maximum surface area at 15 acres. The AER recommends that the rehaleros interested in the creation of this type of terrain, as they allow the dogs to start the season in better physical level, performance and well-being during the hunt.
  • Training of the dogs: on the other hand, in the training of dogs must be observed the requirements in the field of animal welfare provided for in art. 4. Law 11/2003.
  • Entry into force: it is important to note that this standard has no provisions for a transitional period and has already entered into force on August 5, 2017, on the day following its publication, as provided for in its Fourth Final Provision, which will have to begin to take into account all of these modifications going into the season that comes.
